DCC Dance Academy presents: Spring Break with the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders are hosting a two-day Dance Academy during Spring Break 2018 (March 14-15) for youth campers ages 6-16 at The Star in Frisco.  It’s the first time the DCC has offered this unique experience during Spring Break.

“There’s been a high demand for our youth programs in the past, and it’s a long time to wait until summer for the annual DCC Dance Academy camps, so it’s good to add this Spring Break event to the calendar,” says Jinelle, a 5-year DCC veteran and group leader who coordinates DCC Academy events.

“This two-day event is smack-dab in the middle of the spring and will led by the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.  There will be dance instruction, photo opportunities, and our ‘show-off’ at the end of the camp.  It’s the whole shebang and it will be lots of fun.

“The dance curriculum will be tailored to specific age groups, similar to our summer camps.  And the fact that it takes place here at The Star is very cool.”

But dance is not the only instruction provided by the DCC.  Lessons extend well beyond a dance studio or football field.

“One of the unique features of our Dance Academy, and something that makes me very proud, is the fact that DCC members spend the full days with the kids and we get to know them on a different level,” adds Jinelle.

We also like to leave them with off-the-field lessons about dedication, positivity, good character, and being involved in our community.   As instructors and DCC members, we take our responsibilities as role models very seriously and try to instill these messages throughout the program and serve as positive examples.

When the camp is over, we hope that the kids have made new friends, learned new dance skills, and had a lot of fun, but also learned life skills.  Our camps are not just about performance elements, it’s about qualities beyond dance.”

Registration for the two-day event on March 14-15, 2018 is underway.

Girls ages 6-16 are encouraged to register early. The early bird registration fee of $225 includes:  2 Party Passes to a Dallas Cowboys preseason game, authentic DCC Poms, and lunch provided by Papa Johns on the last day of camp.   The schedule each day is 9am to 3:30pm.

There are registration add-ons that are available including:  boxed lunches for the first day of camp ($12); and tour vouchers for The Star in Frisco at a discounted cost of $26 per adult and $22 per child.
