Tackling Hunger at Taste of the Cowboys
Our players, both past and present, are certainly no strangers to tackles. On Sunday, May 7th, they came together to tackle something even bigger than professional football players – North Texas Food Bank’s mission to end child hunger at Taste of the Cowboys presented by Caliber Collision.
This marks the 12th year of the fundraiser, but the first year at the Cowboys new facility. The entire Cowboys offensive line, led by Travis Frederick, as well as Cowboys legends Charles Haley, Preston Pearson and Chad Hennings played host at this year’s event.
Thirty-two culinary stations, representing several of Dallas-Fort Worth’s finest dining establishments including Del Frisco’s Grille, Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille and Capital Grille sprawled out across the Tostito’s Championship Plaza in front of Ford Center to serve up delicious gourmet treats and drinks to guests, including a signature drink – the Cowboyrita. Guests also enjoyed three live bands, headlined by recording artists Reckless Kelly, and a silent auction while Cowboys coaches, including head coach Jason Garrett, mascot Rowdy and the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue dancers and drumline mixed and mingled, some even enjoying bites of their own!
Taste of the NFL has provided more than 4 million meals to local children in need since 2005. Every cent of the event’s proceeds goes towards helping the one in four North Texas children who are food insecure. Click here to find out more about how you can help
